For all children, the first day of school should be a day of joy and excitement. But too many school-aged children living in homeless and low income situations don't have the necessary learning tools and clothing they need to succeed in class and fit in with their peers.
To combat this tremendous need, Cradles to Crayons has launched our annual Ready for School campaign to equip local disadvantaged school-aged children with a brand new backpack full of high-quality, age-appropriate school supplies as well as the clothes, shoes, books, and other basic essentials they need to feel successful and be able to thrive in and out of the classroom.
Ready for School will provide children with the supplies they need to learn, grow, and thrive, both academically and socially. This year, our goal is to provide 10,000 disadvantaged students in the greater Philadelphia area with the tools they need to succeed on the first day of school by working with low income school districts and local social service agencies.
Please join Cradles to Crayons this year in our effort to provide 10,000 children with backpacks, school supplies, clothing, footwear, and other essentials. By supporting Ready for School, you can help local children with a fundamental task: to fit in with their peers and feel prepared and ready to learn on the first day of school.
Citizens Bank has partnered with Cradles to Crayons to collect school supplies through their Gear For Grades program. Click here to for a list of items being collected and drop off locations.
